Website Redux: Refreshed and Ready to Go

Michael Shepherd, Chair – Pacific Plains Region

Welcome to the new online home of IABC Pacific Plains Region! In keeping with our mission of serving our volunteer leaders across the much of the Midwest and western U.S., we have redesigned the PPR site to make it easier to find the resources you need to support and grow your chapters.

Whether it’s a blog post on IABC leadership, best practices, innovative programs, certification prep or exam testing – we want to hear from you! If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that the value of content and connections can not be confined by geographic borders. What else would you expect from the premier international organization for professional communicators?

Take a few moments to visit the various sections of the revamped region site. In particular, I encourage you to get to know your PPR Chapter Advocates, both those whose terms are nearing completion as well as those who have been elected for the upcoming ’21-22 year. These experienced professionals, many of whom have served at the highest levels of IABC, can make your experience as a chapter leader so much more fulfilling and enjoyable. Lean on them as they lean in to help you pursue your goals of building membership, sponsorship, and better programming. You will also want to spend some time reviewing the helpful templates we’ve included, all of which can reduce the time and headaches of creating documents from scratch.

As excited as we are to launch the new website, be assured that this is just the beginning of our quest to enhance the IABC leader experience. Over time we will be curating and adding new content that you can adapt for your local market. One of the findings in our research and mapping of the new site was the realization that many templates have been created over the years, but haven’t always been easy to access. The new site is an important first step in overcoming that challenge.

My deep appreciation to the entire Pacific Plains Region Board for their commitment and support of this initiative. And a very special THANK YOU to our Communications Director Connie Mayse for guiding us every step of the way, from research to content mapping, wire frame development, and build out. We hope you enjoy the fruits our collective labor.

Onward!
